From

Simple Exploration

Sophisticated Reservoir Exploitation

Born in 1946, I came to schooling later than my contemporaries. After various jobs from brake mechanic to jackeroo I enrolled in night school to attain my HSC and subsequently attended Macquarie University graduating in 1972 with a B.A (Geophysics). I then worked for Petty Ray Geophysical, in various sites across Australia for 3 years, seeing all aspects of seismic acquisition and processing. I returned to Mac. Uni to complete my M.Sc(Geophysics) in 1976-1977. After submitting my thesis I rejoined Petty Ray in 1978 and worked in Australia & South America before becoming an instructor in geophysical processing and acquisition parameters at Petty Ray’s Houston Head office.

I joined Esso Australia in 1981, from Houston, and remained with them for 24 years initially working in interpretation and finally as a field geologist/3D geological modeller in Production Geology, until my retirement in 2005.
